What Football Handicap Betting Actually Means
A handicap bet assigns a virtual goal advantage or deficit to one side before kick-off, narrowing the gap between mismatched teams. In Asian Handicap, a -1.5 line means your chosen team must win by two or more goals for the bet to land. A 0.0 line — sometimes called a draw no bet — refunds your stake if the match ends level.
Quarter-ball lines like -0.25 or +0.75 split your stake across two adjacent lines, so a push on one half still returns half your stake. European Handicap works the same way but includes a draw outcome as a third option, so all three results carry distinct odds.
